The educational philosophy at North Coast Montessori promotes the individual development of each student, academically, socially, physically, and creatively. We encourage independence, responsibility, intrinsic motivation, and organization, fostering confidence, self-esteem, and a lifelong love of learning.
North Coast Montessori School is located in the heart of Seabrook, Washington. With a campus that includes the beach and surrounding forests, we aim to provide children with an experience that is rooted in life science, environmental stewardship and a lifelong love of discovery and creativity. Our academic curriculum is based on a progressive, contemporary interpretation of Montessori education and philosophy.
North Coast Montessori School was founded in 2012 with the goal of providing a community-based, hands-on learning experience for the students of Seabrook, Pacific Beach, and surrounding Grays Harbor communities.
The beach is a unique extension of our classroom and provides students with lessons in science, art and earth stewardship. The forests, trails, gardens, and parks surrounding our classroom are also integral parts of our instructional time. Students have participated in a University of Washington sponsored program titled COASST (Coastal Observation and Seabird Survey Team). As COASST volunteers, students function as citizen scientists, dedicated to gathering data essential to the protection of the Pacific Northwest coastal ecosystem.
